Everybody knows presentations driven by small wireless control devices, pushing a button and slides go forward or backwards. My friends at stereolize always look for a more performance based interface and therefore we setup an interface which requires active body movement and visible interaction with the projection.

quite an exciting short project of summer 2007. tim and many helping hands built this weird wing-screen out of thousands of tubes. both side were then covered with translucent paper. the resulting effect is amazing, boring projection become automatically pixelated, but totally different to a digital effect. this screen glows, moves and adds depth to the visuals. it looks almost like a thousand bulbs next to each other. The performance ICH² combines dance and media art with complex content and attractive use of cross-media. Art and technology synergetically combine to a creative game on duplication and variation. ICH² is merging the components into a hybrid amalgamation, which creates a digital space of possibilities, which is not only reflecting the perspectives of genetechnology, but offers the visitor a new space for experience.

Future Ocean

imagine being deep down at the bottom of the ocean, it’s dark and quiet and you slightly loose orientation. weird creatures appear out of the vast space .. while you keep on exploring this alien surrounding.

The Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts was asked to design an exhibition for the IFM Geomar Marine Science Institute based in Kiel. Putting the emphasis on creating a certain mood rather than bombarding people with information, worked quite well. (more…)
